Flight Standards (Jandakot) Western Australia

Flight Standards (Jandakot) provides a range of specialist vocational training to the local aviation community that is not found within the larger flying “colleges”.
In addition to providing individually tailored flight training, due to the unique nature of our wider operation the experienced team at Jandakot can bridge the gap from flight school to industry – which is invaluable for the aspiring career pilot.
For those to whom flying is a passion, you can be comfortable in the knowledge that our Instructors have both life & professional experience that extends beyond the local flying training area, enhancing our quality of product to a level rarely found elsewhere in the region.
Jandakot Facilities, Staff & Aircraft
The Jandakot base is located in a modern facility right near the airport entrance. It features two briefing rooms, a large classroom as well as two synthetic trainers. The comfortable reception / lounge area helps make it a great place to learn in comfort.
The Senior Instructor on site is David Roses – recently returned from flying in the United States. David is a Flight Examiner who specialises in multi-engine training & Instrument Ratings.
Consistent with our focus on industry-relevant training, we operate our own Beechcraft E55 Baron for multi-engine & Instrument Rating training. To meet any single-engine requirements, a Cirrus SR-20, Cessna 172RG or Piper Archer II will be utilised.
For the more “vigourous” training such as Aerobatics, we choose to use a beautifully restored CT-4A military trainer.
Courses available:

Our most popular course in Jandakot is the Instrument Rating, conducted over five weeks at Jandakot. Either the Baron, Cirrus or Archer II may be used for training – depending on the level of qualification desired.
However, in the local community we see the need for specialist training beyond the “sausage factory”… we have achieved great results with tailored Flight Instructor Rating training including add-on training endorsements. Any training can be offered in a client’s aircraft if desired.
The well-regarded GA Ready course, conducted in the C210 & aimed at bridging the gap between flight school & that “first job” can be completed at Jandakot.
