Flight Standards (Moorabbin) Victoria
Flight Standards has established a National Training Partnership with Moorabbin Flying Services to complete our vision of connecting a long-standing flying school with career pathways into wider industry – from our Moorabbin base a “from-scratch-to-initial-employment” career management strategy is a real possibility!
The full range of flight training services are available – from the very first lesson right through to Commercial Pilot Licence or Instrument Rating. The Moorabbin team also delivers training for the Victorian VETiS scheme, so the base is kept busy fostering the dreams of Victoria’s future aviators whilst they are still in high school.
Moorabbin Facilities, Staff & Aircraft
The Moorabbin facility is located on Northern Avenue at Moorabbin Airport, just across the road from the DFO. It features several large classrooms, smaller briefing rooms, a CKAS MotionSim for instrument training & a comfortable lounge area.
Moorabbin operates several modern PA28 Warrior III aircraft for early flight training up to the Private Pilot Licence, with a C172RG available for Commercial training & a PA44 Seminole available as an initial multi-engine trainer.
Through our association with other local operators, we can provide gas turbine training on C441 Conquest or B200 KingAir. Tailwheel & aerobatics training is also available on request.
Courses available
The Moorabbin team can deliver training for any of our courses.
Like our other capital city bases, we believe that Melbourne is a good starting point for training professional pilots, but we provide a unique link to the Northern Territory for possible commencement working in the industry.
