Cessna 172

Cessna 172

Measured by its longevity and popularity, the Cessna 172 is the most successful aircraft in history.  The first production model was delivered in 1956 and the aircraft remains in production today, with more than 44,000 aircraft being built.

Flight Standards is proud to own a fleet of 172 P Model aircraft – which we believe is the most practical and appropriate aircraft of the 172 lineage for flight training.  With long range tanks fitted as standard, a higher payload than its predecessors without the complexity and fuel consumption of the later model aircraft with fuel injected engines, the C172P is ideal for longer journeys and remote operations.

The C172P forms the backbone of the Flight Standards training fleet – training for the majority of licences and operational ratings will be conducted, at least in part, in this aircraft.

These aircraft are readily available for private hire.
